The UCA (Université Clermont Auvergne) account is used for authentication for all UCA services and all ISIMA/LIMOS services. It is therefore essential for studying, teaching, or conducting research.

You only have one password for all your environments (ISIMA, UCA ENT, email, etc.)

This account is assigned to you upon your arrival at ISIMA/LIMOS. It usually consists of the first 3 letters of your first name, followed by the first 5 letters of your last name, followed by a number if necessary to avoid duplicates.

Students and PhD students✯

The UCA account is assigned to you by the UCA registrar's office (scola).

Your UCA credentials will be sent to you by the university via your personal email address.

Registration procedure

Using your UCA account✯

All ISIMA/LIMOS users are also users of the Université Clermont Auvergne's information system. As such, they are subject to the charter

You can view information about your account by logging in to the ENT and clicking on the My account tab at the top right. Make sure to note your UCA email address.

New students and PhD students at UCA must activate their account by logging in to the UCA account activation page using their file number, available on the registration certificate

Changing your UCA account password✯

It is essential to change your password if you suspect it may have been compromised.

A good password includes at least 12 characters, uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and punctuation marks.

Regularly changing your password is a good practice recommended by ANSSI.

Once logged in to the UCA ENT, you can change your password at https://ent.uca.fr/compte/password/update.

Automatic synchronization of UCA password across UCA directories

The password is automatically updated wherever necessary immediately.

Recovering your UCA account (forgotten password)✯

UCA requires each user to provide a recovery email (often a personal email). This email will allow you to reset your password if forgotten via the UCA account recovery form

the @emse.fr address is used as the recovery email.

Creating a temporary guest UCA account✯

For individuals who do not need a UCA account (i.e., those not affiliated with UCA HR or registrar services), it is possible to create a temporary guest UCA account.

A temporary guest UCA account can only access UCA resources such as the ENT and specifically WiFi (Eduroam), but printing printers is not accessible with an ISIMA/LIMOS account

FAQ and issues✯

Why do I have two UCA accounts? Which one should I use?✯

PhD students with teaching duties have two UCA accounts because they are considered students by the UCA registrar's office and teachers by the UCA HR department. One account is associated with an email address ending in @doctorant (the PhD student account) and another with an email address ending in @uca.fr (the teacher or professional account).

For PhD students, the PhD student account should be used for LIMOS services and the teacher account for ISIMA services

Academic staff (EC), postdocs, or ATERs who were previously PhD students at UCA may still have a valid PhD student account when they arrive, but it may be closed at any time by UCA services. Please use your teacher account (with the @uca.fr email address).

For EC, postdocs, and ATERs, only the teacher account should be used for ISIMA/LIMOS services

What should I do if I don't have my UCA account? Who should I contact?✯

If you don't have a UCA account when you should, it is likely because your registration (as a student, PhD student, etc.) or your HR file (as a teacher or researcher) has not been completed or finalized.

To find out what steps to take with UCA, contact your administrative supervisor (registrar's office, ISIMA administration, LIMOS administration) who will guide you.

How can I access an ISIMA/LIMOS service if I am not eligible for a UCA account?✯

In some cases, you may need to access one of our services even though you are not eligible for a UCA account (e.g., volunteer instructor, student from a non-university program, research collaboration, etc.)

To do this, you can ask your ISIMA/LIMOS contact to create a local account in our directory, which will give you access to some of our services.
