ISIMA / LIMOS Technical Services Documentation

Important Notice

This documentation is intended for ISIMA and LIMOS technical staff, researchers, and students. Access to certain services requires prior authentication via VPN, SSH, or MFA depending on the service.


🔐 Authentication Services

VPN Access

To access internal resources remotely, you must connect to the ISIMA VPN using OpenVPN or Kerberos authentication.

  • OpenVPN Configuration:
  • Download the configuration file from https://vpn.isima.fr/config/openvpn.ovpn
  • Connect using:

    sudo openvpn --config /etc/openvpn/client/isima-limos.ovpn
    

  • Kerberos Authentication:

  • Required for some services like GitLab or Moodle.
  • Run:
    kinit username@ISIMA.FR
    

SSH Access

SSH access is provided for HPC clusters and internal servers.

  • Connection Example:

    ssh username@limos.isima.fr -p 22
    

  • MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication):

  • Required for all SSH connections.
  • Use Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

🖥️ Remote Desktop Services

RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)

  • Windows Services:
  • Access via Guacamole at https://rdp.isima.fr
  • Credentials: Same as ISIMA account.

  • Linux Services:

  • Use X2GO for graphical sessions:
    sudo apt install x2goclient
